They tell me
the word
is a knowing bullet
in the head.
Such sheer entry--
like through feathers
or curtains
even impermeable
stones.
They tell me
the word
is for
a
throb
on
uncertain
skin.
How else
could a dog
rattle
his
chain?
How else
could a poet
shave
one
line?
